About us
Children and young people with lymphœdema
We are a not so random group of individuals who have one thing in common. We have an interest in lymphœdema. We may be children; we may be adults; we may be parents; we may be nurses, or doctors or other health care professionals; but we are all motivated by this one thing.
The aim of this site is to help children, young people, and their carers understand more about lymphœdema, its treatment, and how to live an exciting life regardless of the diagnosis.
The International Lymphoedema Framework believes every child is entitled to a correct diagnosis by a qualified medical practitioner and to appropriate treatment.

Whilst this site is primarily in English, we welcome relevant contributions in any language. Many modern browsers have the option to translate a webpage into your local language. Right click the page and select the option ‘Translate to my language‘. You have to ‘right-click’ in the correct place – white space in the border may work. Apple users need to do something different. Safari users, we understand, will have to add the translation module to Safari first. We have also added the Google Translate option into the right hand menu, which you may care to use. There is however a strong and appropriate warning, which applies to all the translation options, as we found here:
The option to translate these documents is to overcome language barriers and for broader understanding but should not be considered as authoritative text for any official purpose.
As pointed out, translation of legal (for our purposes read medical) texts may be inaccurate. So beware of it when using the translate feature. Lastly, translations here are provided by Google Translate and we do not warrant their accuracy.
